SONO Fine Art Social Media Campaign
Tools: Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop
Timeline: Apr. 10 - May 14 2023
Client: SONO Fine Art
Problem statement
A local business that is in need of a social media redesign and social media campaign. Social media can help people strengthen their relationships, create new connections, and find social support in tough times, so many small businesses do need a strong social media presence and brand identity.
Key question: How to cultivate an updated brand identity while simultaneously redesigning a small business’s social media presence to increase awareness and business?
Process
Thorough research of inspiration, color, and typefaces.
Research
With collaboration of a team, we researched similar and local small businesses to get a better understanding of what and who SONO Fine Art gallery is competing with. We researched each competitor's social media presence, as well as our “client’s”, to see what could be improved for SONO Fine Art.
Sono Fine Art Current Social Media Presence on Instagram and Facebook:
From previous research, we knew we had a lot of room to work with when considering the social media redesign and brand identity of SONO Fine Art. We wanted to increase the follower count for both Instagram and Facebook, create posts that followed new brand guidelines, and cultivate more business for SONO Fine Art.
Studies
We were inspired by the artwork that is displayed in the museum; most of the work displayed are nature scenes or nature is a feature in pieces. So we choose colors that are represented in nature that we see everyday.
For this campaign and client, we wanted something muted but powerful and calm but purposeful. We kept the blue tone that was SONO Fine Art’s original color in their logo but decided to omit the gray since gray does not stand out with the blue.
We were going in between a sans serif or serif typeface for SONO. Their original logo and typeface was a decorative typeface and not something that can be translated in smaller sizes well.
We screenshotted our typeface inspirations, we leaned towards using a serif typeface so there can be high readability when considering sight limitations.
Final Compositions
As a result of our collective research, I created a newsletter that spotlights artists represented in the museum and two email blast images. These three pieces of content would benefit SONO Fine Art’s media efforts since they need to connect with their audience and consumers more. Highlighting the artists in their museum will give a humanistic feel to their museum.
